Pell City’s softball team competed in the Class 6A state tournament last week at Oxford’s Choccolocco Park. The Panthers went 2-1 on Day 1 — defeating Brookwood and Hartselle — before being eliminated by Athens on Friday, May 16. Pell City, which turned a triple play to knock off Hartselle, finished its season with a 28-15-2 record.
