Five Springville Middle School archery team students competed at regionals Saturday, March 1, at Pell City High School. Jordyn Lyster ranked 5th in the region for the female division and shot a personal best of 274/300. Wyatt Porter ranked 1st in the region for the male division shot his personal best of 273/300.

The Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve held its One Year Celebration Saturday, Feb. 22 with live music and lots of guests.

The Springville community garden beds at the Springville Senior Center were delivered and prepared for planting Thursday, Feb. 20 by Latoya Lambert a master gardener with the Jones Valley Teaching Farm and Sowing Seeds. The 18 new planter boxes were made possible through a grant from Jones Valley Teaching Farm, with the City of Springville matching the funds.

Congratulations to the Springville Elementary Fourth Grade History Fair winners Hartley Arrington, first place; Liam Massey, second place; Haven Harris, third place and McKinley Hallman, honorable mention.

The Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve will host the 2nd Youth Turkey Calling Expo on Saturday, March 8, to teach participants about turkey life cycles, tracking and hunting tactics with Hands-on turkey calling techniques and giveaways for participants. The program is for all ages and starts at 9 a.m. at no charge.
