Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve Manager Doug Morrison attended the Alabama Rivers and Streams Network Feb. 20 where he had the opportunity to meet James D. Williams, author of “Freshwater Mussels of Alabama & the Mobile Basin in Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee.”

The Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve will host the 2nd Youth Turkey Calling Expo on Saturday, March 8, to teach participants about turkey life cycles, tracking and hunting tactics with Hands-on turkey calling techniques and giveaways for participants. The program is for all ages and starts at 9 a.m. at no charge.
