The Springville Lady Tigers basketball team fell short in the Sweet 16 Regional Tournament at Jacksonville State University on Valentine’s Day. The season came to an end with three consecutive Area Championship and three consecutive Regional appearances.
The Springville Middle School Archery team members competed against Leeds Feb. 11, with a final score of 2664. Wyatt Porter, 1st place male division; Landon Childs, 2nd place male division; Jordyn Lyster, 1st place female division and Arabella Amari, 2nd place Female division.
Four Springville Wrestlers qualified for the AHSAA State Tournament in Huntsville. Each one of them placed individually in their bracket: 106 – Fisher Lundberg, 3rd place; 157 – Callen Hettich, 3rd place; 175 – Alec Swallows, 4th place and 215 – Landon McKendree, 2nd place.
Tanner Mitchell represented SES at the St Clair County Spelling Bee Feb. 10. He made it to the third round.
Congratulations to Callie Wigginton, 2025 Little Miss Springville at the 66th Annual Miss Springville Pageant held Feb. 1, at The Depot.
The Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve will host the 2nd Youth Turkey Calling Expo on Saturday, March 8, to teach participants about turkey life cycles, tracking and hunting tactics with Hands-on turkey calling techniques and giveaways for participants. The program is for all ages and starts at 9 a.m. at no charge.
