The Springville Team for the 14U Trussville Youth Basketball League finished 9-1 on the season with a Championship giving them an automatic spot in the State Tournament. The Alabama Recreation and Parks Association Boys State Basketball Tournament will take place in Tuscaloosa from March 21–23. The tournament will feature 65 youth basketball teams from across the state.
Springville Middle School Student Council attended the District 6 Student Council Leadership Conference at JSU Jan. 31.
Two of SES students had an amazing surprise at school when their father Bradley J Tillman Master Sargent, who is in the Air Force and has been on deployment, surprised Ava Rae and Noah along with their mother Jan. 30 with a military homecoming.

The Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve will host the 2nd Youth Turkey Calling Expo on Saturday, March 8, to teach participants about turkey life cycles, tracking and hunting tactics with Hands-on turkey calling techniques and giveaways for participants. The program is for all ages and starts at 9 a.m. at no charge.
