Sometimes we see combinations that would have never occurred to us. A teenage girl with a boyfriend who’s a vampire. The image of a pink bow on a skull. But someone somehow made it work.
The folks at Hellbilly Hollow in Vincent have come up with an unusual combination themselves: a haunted attraction with a Valentine’s theme. Cupid’s Carnage: A Valentine’s Day Massacre will take place Friday, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb. 8.
Be warned, this attraction is not for the faint of heart. How do the folks at the Hollow describe it? “Step into a blood-soaked nightmare where Cupid’s arrows bring fear, not romance. Whether you come hand-in-hand or solo, you’ll enter a world of twisted love, relentless horror and unforgettable scares.”
The address Country Road 467 Vincent, AL. For more information, call 205-365-6990 or find them on Facebook.
Thursday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 9, the Loomis Brothers circus will be at the St Clair County Arena and Events Center. It begins at 7:30 p.m. except Saturday when it will be at 3:30 p.m. You can get tickets online or call the event center at 2:05-628-2861.
At the time of this writing, there are only 24 tickets left. So, if you wish to take your kids, or even go by yourself for some circus fun, hurry!
Every Feb. 13, more and more women get together to celebrate with their girlfriends. This year, Lala’s is the place to go to celebrate their besties. There will be eight different wines to choose from and four wine tastings as well as cheese, nuts and chocolate snack mix. The party will last from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. the cost will be $14.95. No reservation required.
On Feb. 14, Lala’s will have its Second Valentine’s Dinner. Salad, a choice between smoked brisket and a personal pizza, chocolate or red velvet cake for dessert and a soft drink or tea plus a champagne toast. The cost is $75 per couple. Reservations are required. To make reservations, email lala’s359553@gmail.com.
Ashville has a variety of ways and a lot of reasons to celebrate. It is not just for couples. It is a celebration of love. Hopefully we will all use it as a chance to show those we love just how much.
But first, buy tickets. Make arrangements. Don’t miss that chance.
