(Column) All About Ashville

The snow is off the ground. Roads are safe. Businesses have reopened and there are plenty of places to go and things to see and do in Ashville.
Those of us of a certain age are often among the last to know when something becomes part of popular culture. We know girlfriends steal their boyfriends’ hoodies. Many of us have done it ourselves. We just didn’t know it had become part of public domain and conversation.
Goodnight Moon and Candle Company now has The Stolen Hoodie Candle. Many of us stole the hoodie not just for warmth. It smelled like our men. So, the candle has a masculine essence and a hint of flannel. This soy candle has a double wick. It comes in 10 or 14 ounces. There are also car diffusers.
Pageant season will soon be upon us. The Parade of Roses is a nearly 50 year old Ashville tradition. It is still in the planning stages. But you will know as soon as we do.
Classes have resumed at The Little Art Tree. They are also preparing for the end of the year art show in May. At the time of this writing, the theme has not been announced. Call owner Jess Alexander at 205-405-5820 with questions.
This Saturday, everyone with a Springville, Steele or Ashville address who is covered by Whitney Fire Department is invited to a meet-and-greet at the department. It begins at 12:30 p.m. They are serving chili and other soups with all the fixings. The cost can’t be beat. It’s absolutely free!
Have a great week Ashville. And continue having a happy new year.
