CEPA to debut theater day camp for area students

School is closed Jan. 20, but the theater is open and ready for students.

From costuming and tech, to improv and dance workshops, this camp packs a lot of learning into one off day. Students will have plenty of time to unwind from the stress of schoolwork playing improv and acting games with experienced camp staff.

Show dates have been changed to Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. due to severe weather conditions in the area. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

“Once on This Island Jr.” is a musical set in the Caribbean, where a young girl named Ti Moune embarks on a journey of love, sacrifice and destiny. After being struck by a storm, Ti Moune, a poor peasant girl, falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy young man from a different social class. Despite the warnings of the gods, Ti Moune’s love leads her on a quest to save Daniel, which ultimately teaches her powerful lessons about life, love and the interconnectedness of all people.

Moody High School will present an evening of mystery, mayhem and laughs as the classic board game “Clue” comes to life on stage.

Show dates are Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

“Clue” is a comedic murder mystery based on the classic board game. Set in a spooky mansion, six guests are invited to a dinner party where they are soon thrust into a puzzling murder mystery. Each character, with a distinct and quirky personality, is a suspect and they must work together to uncover the identity of the killer. Amidst twists, turns and plenty of comedic moments, the audience is kept guessing until the final reveal.
