Birthdays: I wish a wonderful birthday to my grandson, Michael Snow, who turned 19 on Oct. 22. Michael is a freshman at Samford University. We are so proud of the special young man he is.

A special birthday wish goes out to my granddaughter, Emily Vaughan Doty, who celebrates her birthday on Oct. 25. Also, birthday wishes to my special friends, Janet Weldon, who celebrates her birthday today, Oct. 24 and Janice Carlisle, who celebrates her birthday on Oct. 26. Other birthdays include Luke McClean, Brady Laminack, Caleb Groce, Caden Aldridge, Kevin Ballard, Sara Ann Love Rast, Beth Mathis Foley, Taylor Hendrix, Kyrie Word, Patsy Smith, Jessica Calhoun, Charity Mitcham, Jason Mitcham and Ben Jordan.

Church: Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church will hold the following:

• Sun. Oct. 27 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Terry Chapman Singing Ministries, food and fellowship following Pastor Appreciation.

• Nov. 23, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Community Thanksgiving Meal

• Dec. 7, the Woman’s Ministry will be doing a cookie exchange with Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Trunk or Treats

• Thursday, Oct. 24, is the night for the Col. Robert L Howard State Veterans Home’s Fall Harvest Celebration. The fun night will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a Cake Walk, hayride, Tick Tack Toe, Apple Fishing, Pumpkin Chunkin, Face Painting, Pumpkin Ring Toss, Potato Sack Race, Pick a Pumpkin, Hot Apple Cider & Coffee Bar, popcorn and punch and so much more. You don’t want to miss it.

• Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church will have its Fall Festival on Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 5:30-7 p.m.

• You are invited to the Pell City Animal Hospital’s 3rd Annual Trunk-or-Treat on Friday, Oct. 25, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. They will be hosting a Pet Costume Contest where 1st and 2nd place winners will be chosen. There will be candy, games and a furry costume contest. They will also hold a drawing for an auto ship giveaway. Please call and ask staff for more information. Hope you can join them for this spooktacular event.

• Seddon Baptist Church will host a Fallapalooza on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Come join in for food trucks, hayrides, games and inflatables.

• You are invited to the Premier Dance Company’s Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4-7 p.m. there will be candy, games, prizes, giveaways, face-painting, dancing, music and vendors.

• New Hope Baptist Church will have its Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4-6 p.m. Fun games, face painting, hayride, free hot dogs, chili, and much more.

• The Pentecostals of Pell City will have their Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4-8 p.m on the church property. There will be food, games, a hayride and a bonfire. There will also be a Glow in the Dark Candy Hunt after Sundown.

• Stemley Volunteer Fire Dept. will host its 3rd annual Trick or Treat Saturday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. Games and candy for everyone.

• Cropwell Baptist Church will host its Trunk or Treat Sunday, Oct. 27, from 2-4 p.m.

• Eden Westside Baptist Church will have a Harvest Festival Sunday, Oct. 27, at 3 p.m.

• Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church presents its Fall Festival Sunday, Oct. 27, from 4-6:30 p.m. There will be candy, games, bouncy house, food and fun.

• The St. Clair County Jail will host the 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat at the Pell City Movie theatre Monday, Oct 28, starting at 5 p.m. There will be a snow cone truck, face painting, food vendor truck and local businesses will set up and pass out candy.

• You are invited to go by Oak Circle Assisted Living Wednesday, Oct. 30, for Trunk or Treat from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be treats and a bouncy slide.

• Mt. Olive Baptist Church will host a Trunk or Treat Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m.

• Mt. Zion Church will host a Fall Festival Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m.

• Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church will host a Fall Fest Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 6-7:30 p.m. Games, candy, hayrides, pumpkins and much more.

• A.B. Geter, 718 Order of the Eastern Star presents Trunk or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Earnest White Building (904 16th St. So., Pell City) from 4-8 p.m. There will be hot dogs, walking tacos, hot cocoa bar, candy, and more.

• Join Victory Church on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. for its Annual Trunk-R-Treat! This massive event is a fun and safe place for your family to have a blast! There will be tons of candy, games, characters from your favorite movies and shows and more.

• New Life Assembly of God will host a Hallelujah Night Fall Festival on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. There will be games, hayride, bouncy house, bonfire and more.

CEPA: You might catch a glimpse through the fog of the Headless Horseman on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. and Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. at the CEPA. The PCHS theatre will present “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” This event is free, but they will be accepting donations of unexpired food cans and packs of water for the Drama Club to give to those in need. Any cash donations will go to purchasing these items, as well.

Sports: Congratulations to the PCHS Panther Football Team who will be going to the playoffs after beating Pinson Valley last Friday night.

School: Congratulations to Williams Intermediate School teacher, Melanie Wise, for being chosen as that school’s Teacher of the Year.

Do not throw away your old blankets, sheets and bath towels. The Pell City Animal Shelter can use for the animals.
