Special birthday wishes to my grandson, Daniel Adams whose birthday is on Sept. 13, and to my granddaughter, Kimberleigh Brooke Walls, whose birthday is Sept. 6.
Anniversaries: Happy anniversary to my daughter, Laura and son-in-law, Ricky Adams. Also, congratulations to Bill and Renee Robinson and to Laurie and Larry Mullinax who recently celebrated their anniversaries.

School: PCHS homecoming dance will be on Saturday this year, Sept. 21 from 7-11:30 p.m. So glad they changed it from Friday after the homecoming game to Saturday. This gives those who play football, cheer, and otherwise participate in the Homecoming Game a chance to enjoy the dance. It will be at the CEPA, featuring DJ Epic. Attire is semi-formal and sneakers. Tickets on sale soon.
Local: Thanks to the “St. Clair County Extension Staff” (CEC Josh Taylor, 4-H Agents, Alayna Jackson and Jayme Anderson with the help of Greg Bailey and Cindy Harper) for doing a great, wonderful and outstanding job helping to make sure the youth had a fun filled summer. The 2024 4-H Clover Classroom Program was packed with fun and excitement Clover Classroom activities included Sport Fishing, Photography, Art, Pottery, Raptors and Reptiles and salsa making.
A free End of the Summer Bash, Rock N Dock, will be at the Pell City Sports Complex on Sept 10th from 5-10 p.m. There will be food trucks, corn hole and live bands. Performing will be Andrew Carpenter, Aslen Weaver and the Southern Crossroads Band, and the Coosa Phat Katz.
Alabama Extension offers Fall Pond Maintenance Online on Sept. 9 from 12-1 p.m. Ponds can provide unlimited hours of fun for the entire family, but it’s important to make sure you are maintaining your pond year-round. During this one-hour webinar Dr. Rusty Wright of Auburn University will talk about all the things we can do this fall to ensure our ponds are in the best possible condition as we approach spring. Alabama Extension offers Cottage Food at the St Clair Pell City Municipal Complex, 1000 Bruce Ethredge Pkwy, Pell City, AL 35128 on Sept. 10 from 2-4 p.m. Cottage Food Certification for those wanting to sell non-hazardous items from their homes. Come see the new rulings, learn about preparing the safest product possible and learn some food preservation method for preparing jams and jellies. You will be able to take your certification test at the end of class that will be good for 3 years. The cost for certification is $25. Remember every Third Thursday in Historic Downtown Pell City for specials, sales, and fun! This month will be Sept. 19, beginning at 11 a.m.
Lots of programs at the Pell City Library. Take a look at pellcitylibrary.com to see what might interest you. There is Story Time, Book Clubs, Teen Movie Nights and Beginner Yoga.
Remember the Pell City Farmers Market every Wednesday Thru Oct. 25 from 1-5 p.m. at Lakeside Park. Lots of local, home-grown items.
