The Helen Keller Art Show of Alabama is returning to the Museum of Pell City for a second year.
The show will consist of 40 pieces of art celebrating students with visual impairments, blindness and or deaf blindness from throughout the state of Alabama. Children who participate in the show use various media to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
Each piece of art is completed by students with direction from their vision teachers, art teachers and/or parents.
The artwork is unique and cannot be reproduced. Selling for $150.00, all funds and donations go toward the expenses of producing the shows, (framing and transporting artwork throughout the state). Checks can be made payable to The Helen Keller Art Show of Alabama or through Zelle at 205-482-5201.
The exhibit will run from Sept. 12–26. The museum is open on Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is never an admission charge.
According to a press release, special exhibits like these are possible, in part, through the support of Metro Bank. The museum is located at 1000 Bruce Etheredge Pkwy, Suite 200.
