School: PCHS Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday this year, on Sept. 21 from 7-11:30 p.m. So glad they changed it from Friday after Homecoming Game to Saturday. This gives those who play football, cheer, and otherwise participate in the Homecoming Game a chance to enjoy the dance. It will be at the CEPA, featuring DJ Epic. Attire is semi-formal and sneakers. Tickets on sale soon.
Sports: Congratulations to the Pell City High School Panthers who won the first game of the season at home against the Pelham Panthers. The score was 35-7. If you can’t make the games, then be sure to tune in to The River on YouTube. The next game will be Aug. 30 playing against Coosa Christian at home.
PCHS Home games prices have changed. They will be $11, but there will be no charge for parking. I understand there are discounted passes the students can buy that will get them into any of Pell City High School sports. You can still buy tickets on the GoFan.co website. There may be some season tickets available if interested. These are in the reserved section.
Local: The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources provides several youth dove hunt opportunities throughout the state each fall.
