The Ole Post Office donated a small refrigerator to the special education classroom at Springville High School Aug.2.

The Springville Senior Center catered a special lunch from La Cabanita on Friday, Aug. 9.

The Springville Youth Cheer Springfest Queens greeted students at Meet the Teacher Aug. 5, to promote Run 4 the Parks with all proceeds benefiting a new pickleball court at Big Springs Park.

Springville Parks and Recreation will host the 4th Annual Run 4 the Parks 5K Races Saturday, Aug. 17. All proceeds from Run 4 the Parks will go towards building a new pickleball court.

Cost to enter is 5K Race at 8 AM $30; Rubber Ducky Run at 9/9:15 AM $5; Color Run at 9:30 AM $20; Obstacle Course at 10:30 AM $10. Email lcleaver@cityofspringville.com

The Baby Steps Memorial Run 5K and Fun Run will take place Sept. 14, at Homestead Hollow with all proceeds benefiting The Amelia Center at Children’s of Alabama. Register by Aug. 15 to include a memorial name on the shirts/signs. Register at https://runsignup.com/Race/AL/Springville/babystepsal.

The Springville PD will be conducting a civilian firearms training class Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m. Cost is $50 a person. To sign up, contact the Police Department at 205-467-2701 and ask for Gina Burns.
