Leeds Introduces a New Software to Connect Personally with Residents

City of Leeds has launched Rep’d, a video messaging and engagement platform designed specifically for local government interactions.
Through the platform, residents can pose questions to city staff members and receive brief, personalized video responses. Notifications are sent to residents’ inboxes when their questions are answered, ensuring immediate engagement.
The city of Leeds is one of the first municipalities in the southeast to utilize Rep’d.
“We’re always looking for ways to connect personally with the Leeds community while keeping residents informed,” city administrator Brad Watson said in a press release. “We’ll be using this tool to ensure everyone in the Leeds community is heard, informed and has a personal connection to city leadership.”
There’s no need to download an app or log into any software. To participate, residents simply visit the website to submit their questions along with their email address. The questions are then reviewed to identify the most suitable city staff member who will provide a video response. If a question requires a more direct conversation, it will be handled, accordingly. All questions and answers remain on the website so others may view them who might have similar questions. The city will also have the option to share videos on social media to broaden their reach with this information.
In addition to Rep’d, the city of Leeds has introduced other initiatives to boost community communication, such as the Online Services Portal and TextMyGov applications. More tools are on the horizon and will be announced soon.
Residents are encouraged to join the conversation at repd.us/leeds or through the Ask Leeds button on the city website at LeedsAlabama.gov.
