Congratulations to SHS coach Meg Childress Arney for being recognized at the AHSAA State Championship Coaches Banquet in Montgomery, Saturday, July 19, for a championship season in AHSAA 5A Girls Soccer.
The Springville Library finished out their Summer Reading Program with visits from Star Wars characters and Marvel superheroes with record attendance and participation.

Meet the Teacher will be Monday, Aug. 5 for kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grade 4-6 p.m.; Tuesday, Aug. 6 for Pre-K, first and third grade 4-6 p.m. Students will find out teacher assignments at this time. Bring supplies. Only students who have registered will receive a teacher assignment.
The Baby Steps Memorial Run 5K and Fun Run will take place Sept. 14, at Homestead Hollow with all proceeds benefiting The Amelia Center at Children’s of Alabama. Register by Aug. 15 to include a memorial name on the shirts/signs. Register at https://runsignup.com/Race/AL/Springville/babystepsal.
The Springville PD will be conducting a civilian firearms training class Saturday, Sept. 14 at 9 a.m. Cost is $50 a person. To sign up, contact the Police Department at 205-467-2701 and ask for Gina Burns.
