The Springville SMS cheerleaders attended UCA Summer Cheer Camp at Auburn University the first week in June. The squad was awarded first place overall in camp routine, second place overall in sideline routine, third place in cheer, a superior trophy, and a spirit stick. Avery Eubanks was selected as a Pin It Forward recipient and today she pinned it forward to a senior from Montgomery Academy.

The Springville Public Library hosted Plush Puppy Adoption Stations at the Summer Reading 2024 Program June 7.

Springville Elementary hosted guest speaker Nikki Posey from PinkHill Organics who spoke to students at Literacy and Math Camp June 11, about the importance of bees and honey.

Summer Reading 2024 at Springville Public Library featured Dino Craze for Preschool Storytime on Thursday, June 13.

SpringvilleTigers Boys Basketball Team will host the 33rd annual Tiger Basketball Camp July 8-11, from 8-11 a.m. Youth ages K-6 are welcome to attend. The cost is $75 per camper. Link to sign up is: hanin.onstream4k.com/basketball.php.

Springville Elementary will offer Kindergarten Camp July 24 and July 25 from 8-10:30 a.m.

Incoming kindergarten students will learn how to go to the lunchroom, carline and all about SES.

Students must be registered for kindergarten to attend camp. This includes registering in PowerSchool, as well as bringing in all required documents.

The Springville Police Department will be conducting two civilian firearms training classes, July 20, starting at 8 a.m. and Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m. Cost will be $50 a person. To sign up, contact the police department at 205-467-2701 and ask for Gina Burns.

Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve will host The Big Canoe Creek Jam. concert to celebrate the grand opening of the Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve Saturday, at Homestead Hollow. Gates open at 10 a.m. The music starts at 11 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. All proceeds benefit the Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve.

Freshmen (Pre-K 4 & Kindergarten), Sophomores (1st & 2nd grade), Juniors (3rd & 4th grade) and Seniors (5th & 6th grade). $200 per player, Registration closes on July 7, Conditioning starts in July.
