Springville Anglers Will Walker and Caige Bragg finished 3rd place in the 2-day Bass Tactix High School State Cha.m.pionship Tourna.m.ent at Lake Neely Henry.

Springville Middle School welcomed Stewart Brockman as the band director May 21. He will also be assisting the Springville High School bands.

Springville Walmart honored student associates who graduated high school with a party and special recognition on May 20.

The Springville Police Department will be conducting two civilian firearms training classes, July 20, starting at 8 a.m. and Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m. Cost will be $50 a person. To sign up, contact the police department at 205-467-2701 and ask for Gina Burns.

Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve will host The Big Canoe Creek Ja.m. concert to celebrate the grand opening of the Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve Saturday, June 15, at Homestead Hollow. Gates open at 10 a.m. The music starts at 11 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. All proceeds benefit the Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve.
