Leeds Mayor David Miller recently announced a new development for the city’s economic horizon. Miller unveiled plans for the expansion of C&B Piping, Inc., a cornerstone industry deeply embedded within Leeds’ fabric.

“Ladies and gentlemen, some more good news for the city of Leeds,” Miller said at the early March announcement. “Tonight, the city council, with the exception of councilman, Turner, who voted against, voted to bring in a brand-new industry, an expansion of an industry that’s already here, but a very significant expansion.”

Leeds City Council approved a five-year tax abatement at the Feb. 20, meeting. C&B Piping President Stephen Gables and vice-president of Operations Blake Williams shared more information about the expansion. The investment involves C&B Piping securing a 10-acre plot adjacent to its existing Highway 78 location.

“This is one that’s good for everybody,” Miller said. “They’ve always been a good citizen of Leeds, and we’re happy to welcome them in a big expansion here in our city.

“This is just another example that Leeds is open for business,” Miller said. “We anticipate other industries to come and be part of the expanding C&B Piping footprint here in Leeds.”
