St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle stolen

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, that involved a stolen St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle.

According to ALEA, the crash occurred when the 2023 Ford F-150 patrol vehicle struck the rear of a 2012 Ford Mustang driven by Trevon K. Oliver, 27, of Birmingham. Oliver was injured and transported to UAB Hospital. The patrol vehicle involved in the crash was stolen from the residence of a St. Clair County deputy sheriff shortly before 3 a.m. The driver of the patrol vehicle exited the vehicle and left the scene of the crash.

The driver’s identity is currently unknown. The crash occurred on Interstate 20 near the 152 mile marker, in St. Clair County. Nothing further is available as troopers with ALEA continue to investigate.
