A standoff with a man wielding a knife at an Odenville home has ended peacefully, authorities said Jan. 5.

According to a statement from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were attempting to serve an eviction order on Cedar Branch Circle in Odenville at about 9 a.m. when a man threatened deputies with a knife. The man was taken into custody about 2:30 p.m., after barricading himself inside the residence, according to the sheriff’s office.

Pell City Police Department, Oxford Police Department, Odenville Police Department and FBI Gadsden assisted the sheriff’s office.
