Hello everyone. That wonderful season of Jesus’s birth is near. May the joy of Christ’s birth fill our hearts this Christmas — and the angels said to them, be not afraid, behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will come to all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11.
Birthdays: A happy birthday wish goes out to my great-grandson, Gage Adams on the 27th, son of Daniel and Jennifer Adams and another special “Happy Birthday” goes out to my great-granddaughter, Anna Beth Adams on the 29th, daughter of Jeremy and Heather Adams. Also, happy birthday to Cynthia Cochran, Beth Jones, Charlene Cook, Jim O’Barr, Ricky Dunlap, Brenda Fields, Angela Scott, Dianne Meeks Vinciguerra, Kathy Nix, Riley Ginn, Lauren Brascho, Lilly Kate Seay, Karen Bain and Glenn Evans.
Church: Victory Church will hold three Christmas services on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 17 at 9:15 and 10:30 a.m. It will have Christmas Eve candlelight services on Sunday, Dec. 24 at 9:15 and 10:30 a.m.
Pell City First Baptist Church will have an adult choir Christmas Cantata, The Hope of Christmas, on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 9:30 a.m. it will have Christmas Eve, carols and candles service on Sunday, Dec. 24 at 9:30 a.m.
Chapel in the Pines will have a Christmas Eve Service at 3 p.m. at Lakeside Park.
Schools: Congratulations to Emily Doty, teacher at Coosa Valley Elementary and Brandon Milam, teacher at Pell City High School, on becoming National Board-Certified teachers.
Congratulations to Melissa Lewis who was selected as an Alabama Public Television Educator of Excellence.
The Pell City High School Theatre Department competed this weekend at State Trumbauer! They participated in 11 events throughout Friday and Saturday and had six place Excellent and five place Superior. Of the five Superiors, two events placed in the top three of their categories! Anna Hathorn placed 3rd overall in Costume Design and Olivia Holloway and Gordon Goulet placed 2nd overall in Duet Dramatic Acting.
Get your tickets for Frozen, Jr. presented by the Spotlight Kids. It will be at the CEPA on Friday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec 17 at 2 p.m. You can purchase tickets online at pellcitycepa.com/tickets or at the door. This event has assigned seating, so buy early to get your preferred seats.
Local: Wreaths Across America will be Saturday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
Pell City Rotary raised in excess of $50,000 for the St Clair County Boys Ranch. Many people came out to join in the fun and participate in the Jingle Bell 5K and Fun Run. Pell City Rotary is proud to serve and works meet the needs of our community.
