All about Ashville

Ashvilians get out your calendars. Fall is almost here. and days are filling up faster than a Belle’s dance card at cotillion.

But first, a huge congratulations to Lydia Northam.

This lady dog volleyball player just got her 500th kill. and she’s only a sophomore! Well done Lydia! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish throughout your high school career.

Next weekend is Ashville High school’s homecoming. Another chance for the community to gather to watch the award-winning band, dancers and floats in the parade. It is also an opportunity to advertise your group or business at a very low cost. Non-student vehicles are only $10 to enter. There is a link on Ashville’s Facebook page or you can pick up a form at school.

T’s Cake Day on a Plate Club is having a cake giveaway. Stop by pick up a sticker, build your own cat and dog face and enter to win a cake on a plate. The winner will be announced on Oct. 21. This is no cake walk. It’s easier!

There’s also a Harvest Fest on Oct. 14. There will be games, rides and more. and while you’re enjoying them you can get your car washed. More details as the date approaches.

The rising cost of gas and other economic factors groceries are at an all-time high. The blessings box is emptying as quickly as it fills. People from lower income families on a fixed income depend on it.

So please bring canned goods, boxed food, rice and any other non-perishable you can spare. It will truly be a blessing. Both to those who give and who receive.
