I want to correct an error that was inadvertently made in my column last Thursday, my great-great niece, Sophie Davison’s birthday, July 25, was omitted. Sophie is the daughter of Derrick and Ashley Davison and celebrated her ninth birthday. Her little bother, Dylan Davison, will celebrate his seventh birthday July 29. Happy birthday and wishes go out to both of them!

The Wattsville Freewill Baptist Church will have their annual homecoming Sunday, Aug. 7. It will be an all-day event with services beginning at 10 a.m. There will be no Sunday school. Attendees will break at noon for a pot-luck dinner. Each family attending is asked to bring dishes of food and drinks. The Church will provide the tableware. There will be guest singers for both the morning and afternoon services. Following dinner and fellowship, attendees will reconvene for an afternoon of singing and testimonies.

Revival services will be held on Monday, Aug. 8, through Friday, Aug 12, at 7 nightly. Church pastor, Johnny Cook and church family invite everyone to homecoming and revival services.

Broken Arrow Baptist Church in Coal City and Wattsville has changed the date of their homecoming to be Sunday, Aug. 7 at 10:30 a.m. Sunday school will not meet. It will be a worship service with singing by members of the church. Pastor Bobby Walker will bring the homecoming message at 11 a.m. There will be a pot-luck lunch after the service. Church family invites everyone to come and bring your favorite dishes of food and drinks. Rev. Alan Crump is the associate pastor of Broken Arrow Baptist Church, which celebrates its 132nd anniversary this year.

Revival services will be held Aug. 8-10 at 7 nightly. Rev. Wayne Walker is the guest evangelist. Everyone is invited.

Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Pell City is hosting “Youth Ignite” on July 31-Aug. 2, 7 p.m. nightly. Pastor Dwayne Banks and church family invite all ages to these special services.
