A Springville baseball team is set to attend the world series in Gulfport, Mississippi July 13-17. The Gold Allstar 6U team recently won the AL USSA Silver State Title.

The team and their coach, Tim Dummitt, are asking the community for support as they pay their way for the out-of-state trip. The team started a GoFundMe to help cover costs. The fundraiser is called “World Series Bound with your help.”

They’ve raised nearly $5,800, but still need community support to comfortably get every family into Mississippi.

Dummitt said it will cost each family around $2500 to be able to go to the World Series.

“We ask each of you who played Little League Baseball, coached a team or had a child play recreational baseball to remember how fun it was and how you dreamed of playing in the Little League World Series,” Dummitt said. “I know I remember that feeling like it was yesterday.”

According to Dummitt, advancing to the world series has been a lot of hard work.

“I have had the pleasure of coaching many of these boys for the last several years and all their hard work has finally paid off,” said Dummitt.
