St. Clair County has kicked off summer. The season is in full swing. There have already been events like the Pell City block party and other happenings and more food, fun and festivities will flow.
One benefit of the season, fresh produce is back. The Pell City Farmers Market is open ever Wednesday. Smith’s Tomato farm is open and selling more than tomatoes. The business is family owned. The food is locally grown.
There are activities for the kids. The library has a summer reading program. The splash pad is open. Citizens can get back to Yak…the creek that is for fun for everyone.
Of course, sometimes you’ll want to beat the heat the heat. Smokehouse BBQ Burgers and BBQ LLC is hosting Cornhole tournaments every Thursday night with a bouncy house for the kids weather permitting. Killin’ Time in Pell City is hosting Family Friday nights.
Anyone who has not, already should check out one of Ashville’s newest treasures. The McWatering Hole is a rustic restaurant that opened last February and has shown fast success. It is also a place to peruse and purchase the work of artists from the reknpwn to the local.
So, even when there are no happenings, Ashville’s kids, families, couples and individuals have plenty of opportunities to enjoy another great summer!
