Justinn Overton and Abby Swain of Coosa Riverkeeper Environmental Organization were in the City of Springville and spoke at the St. Clair County Mayor’s breakfast on April 5th. Overton and Swain discussed the importance of our river to the local economies and how growth of communities should include best management practices by developers. Doug Morrison with the Big Canoe Creek Nature Preserve also participated along with Mayor Dave Thomas.

Tracey Rybka taught a quilting class at Sewing Machine Mart in Springville located at Springville Station on April 4th. The Sewing Machine Mart opened in 2022.

Springville Fire Chief Richard Harvey was in Washington D.C. with the Alabama Fire Chiefs Association and Congressional Fire Services Institute on April 6th representing the Alabama Fire Services meeting with Alabama State Senators and Congressmen.

Lawrence Curd and Springville’s Ryan Sweeny won the Coosa River Team Trail LLC Tournament at Neely Henry Lake on April 9th with 5 fish weighing 29.05lbs.

Springville Elementary Principal, Mr Hill celebrated Assistant Principal Shannon Carter on April 6th with a bouquet of flowers for Assistant Principal Day.

The 2022 Springville Classic Golf Tournament benefiting Springville Middle School will be held May 14th at Cumberland Lakes Golf Course in Pinson. The fee is $400 per team ($100 per player)For any additional information please contact Aaron Cox at aaron.cox@sccboe.org or call SMS at 205-467-2740.

St. Clair County Schools are accepting online pre-registration applications for the 2022-2023 school year First-Class Pre-K Classrooms. Please register for the school zone in which you reside. Applicants must turn 4 on or before September 1, 2022 to be eligible for the next academic year. Prek.alaceed.alabama.gov

May 4th will be Kindergarten Roundup (time TBA); May 12…Kindergarten Registration, 2-6 pm in the library.
