The annual Balloon Drop at Victory Church was a big success and lots of fun. The balloons are held in two nets hung from the ceiling of the sanctuary. Lots of eggs spread out over the floor. The balloons are let go and cover the eggs and the kids have to wade through the balloons to find the eggs. They have a blast. If you haven’t attended, be sure to take your kids next year. New Hope Baptist Church will have a Family Fun Night on Wednesday, April 13th from 6-8pm. There will be food trucks, games, music, and fellowship. It will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 16th at 10am. Everyone is welcome.
Seddon Baptist Church will hold a Good Friday Worship and Communion Service on April 15th at 7pm.
Faith Community Fellowship will hold its Easter Egg Hunt on Fri, April 15th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Avondale Walking Track on U.S. 78. Join them for an evening filled with food, inflatables, face painting, egg hunts, and more!
Pell City High School will be having it’s Junior Senior Prom “Hollywood Nights” on April 23rd at the Trussville Civic Center. Check the PCHS website for tickets, updates, and information on appropriate formal wear.
Congratulations to the PCHS JV Lady Panthers softball team for going 3-0 this past weekend in the Pell City Round Robin Tournament. Great pitching by Savannah, Ariel, and Reese led to wins over Ashville, Moody, and Springville.
Congratulations to the PCHS Panther Jr. High Baseball team who won the Silver Bracket at the Thompson Spring Break Tournament.
Congratulations to the Victory Christian Lady Lions softball team for their area win this week.
Congratulations to the PCHS Math team who came in 6th in the State in the State Math Competition. Members of the team are Saylor Richard, Riley Surles, Christian Bloodsworth, and Gavin Warren.
Congratulations to Pell City High School for wining the Hargray #DreamBigger $3,000 grant.
Congratulations to PCHS Class of 2024, sophomore, Caleb Groce. He has been recognized by Prep Redzone Alabama as a prospect to watch.
Congratulations to the six inductees to the St. Clair County Sports Hall of Fame. They are Andy Eden, Mike Bolton, Rachel Countryman Ford, Hobart McLendon, Matthew Sanders, and Leon Taylor. Andy Eden graduated from Pell City High School and Auburn University. He earned his teacher certification from JSU. He is currently varsity boys’ basketball coach at Ragland High School. He was named St. Clair County Coach of the Year in 2013. Andy is married to Laurie Smith Eden.
The Firebirds Doo Wop show begins at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of four guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner. In their epic shows they take audiences on a journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos.
Presented by Frank Shikle & Ed Jones, “Doo Wop at its Finest” will premiere at The Center for Education and Performing Arts in Pell City on April 23 at 7 p.m.
This year the Alabama Cooperative Extension System is again offering an informative workshop, “All About Tomatoes.” It will be at the PC Rec Center at 405 19th Street South on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, 8:30 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. Cost to attend: $15/person
There will be a Softball Benefit Tournament for Annabelle to help her family pay for her cancer treatments. It will be on April 30th and a $5 gate fee. All proceeds will go to Annabelle’s family. There will be no entry fee for teams wanting to support this family. #GoToBat4Annabelle
