Our prayers and condolences are with the family of Mrs. Joyce Elaine Thrower, 87, of Pell City, who passed away March 11. Joyce was born in Pulaski, Tennessee Oct. 1, 1934. Upon moving to Pell City, she began a more than 50 year career as a hairdresser and was blessed to be able to continue that career until her recent illness. Not only did she have her own business, she gave much of her time to the residents in the assisted living and nursing home in Pell City. She will be sadly missed by all of us who knew and loved her.

Our prayers and condolences are with the family of Edward Lorenzo Buckner, Jr., 86, of Zellwood, Florida who passed away March 12. “Ed” was born June 18, 1935 in Holly Pond, Alabama. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Apopka, where he served as teacher and co-director of adult Sunday classes as well as a deacon.

Happy birthday to my granddaughter-in-law, Holly Scott (Ben’s wife), March 25, my friends Jeanette Manning and Julie Pounders, April 1, my granddaughter, Ashley Scott (Carlos and the late Karen Scott’s daughter), and my great-great nephew, Gavin Hill, April 2!
