The Ashville High School Scholars Bowl took sectionals at The Alabama Scholastic Competition. The wrestlers placed second in their regional tournament. Both are state championship bound. Congratulations Ashville academics and athletes on your amazing achievements!
The next town council meeting will be held Monday, February 21 at City Hall. The meeting starts at 6 pm. There is a work session at 5:30. This is a review of the agenda. No official business is conducted but it is opened to the public.
On February 24, The St. Clair County Young Republicans will host their meeting at The Steak House in Pell City at 6 p.m. Circuit Judge Bill Weathington and Stare Representative Jim Hill will be present. Everyone interested is invited.
The Blount County Arts Festival is holding auditions for The Wizard of Oz March 5th at 2p.m. and March 6 at 7 p.m. Audition materials can be picked up Oneonta Library until then. For more information call 205-478-9639.
Don’t forget February 25 is the deadline for applications and fees for the Parade of Roses Pageant. Entrance cannot be guaranteed after this date. Another reminder for anyone wondering what to do this weekend. Saturday is The Mardi Gras Festival in downtown Millbrook.
The Millbrook Revellers will be performing at noon. The Festival begins at 9 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. Asheville’s on Vicki love Bean will be there along with a lot of other vendors. They promise a good time for the whole family.
