The Pell City Chamber of Commerce held its annual Member Appreciation Evening and Stakeholders Meeting on Thursday, January 13, to swear in new officers and new members of the Board of Directors.

The five new board members include Adam Vandiver, Doris Munkus, Erica Grieve, Milea Jo Kirby, and Zachary Gentile. They will each serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors.

The new Executive Board was also sworn-in at the annual meeting, with incoming president Anna Otterson, vice-president Jeremiah Gilreath, president-elect Casey Cambron, and treasurer Rachel Herren. Laurie Brasher, 2021 President, will serve as president ex-officio.

Chamber Board of Directors president ex-officio Laurie Brasher spoke of the accomplishments of 2021, “We are proud to state that not only did we implement tactics and initiatives that met the goals that were set before us but we surpassed them.”

The Chamber also honored outgoing board members Caran Wilbanks, Emily Norris, and Denise Olivastri for their years of dedicated service to the community.

“Caran, Emily and Denise have been instrumental in the growth of the Pell City Chamber,” said Executive Director Urainah Glidewell. “They are always positive, encouraging, and more than anything, they are present. We will greatly miss them on the board but they have assured me they still want to be involved. I am grateful to have served with them and look forward to our new board members and what we can accomplish in the coming years.”

Incoming president Anna Otterson said some of the primary goals for the future are member retention, being a conduit for businesses and customers, building the Corporate Ambassador program, and serving the members throughout the year.

“We want our members to utilize their benefits as much as possible,” said Otterson. “We want to identify the needs of our members, whether they have one employee or hundreds of employees, and see where we can help.”
