If you Google “Ashville Alabama,” The Best Places to Live in Alabama gives it an overall grade of B+. The schools are above average. The crime rate is low. There is cultural diversity and many amenities. Most people own their homes which mean most people are there to stay.

The reason for that cannot be found on any search engine. It is in the hearts and minds of every citizen. It is the determination to fight and flourish.

The Ashville Bulldog wrestling team defeated the Dora Bulldogs to become the 1A-4A Division 4 Region Champs. Congratulations, Gentlemen on such a decided victory. That was indeed a Dog eat Dog match.

Ashville athletes are always ready for their competition. But are they ready to become television stars? Because the coaches at Ashville High School along with the help of Ashville Spirit Club’s Hobart McClendon are broadcasting high school athletics with “Real live ESPN quality.” So, Dogs, when you are not running, holding, tackling, serving or dribbling, smile for the camera.

Ashville is also moving forward economically. An auto repair shop is moving to Ashville from Trussville. A Family Dollar will be open soon. This not only means merchandise at low prices, but career opportunities for citizens. To apply and check out other job openings, see Ashville’s Facebook page.

Right now, especially in these frigid temperatures, June seems miles away. But not if you are a parent of a child 9-14 and you want to attend the St. Clair 4-H Summer Camp from June 14-16.
