The annual Springville Parade took place on Saturday.

Starting at Springville City Hall, numerous residents, public officials, city employees and businesses participated in the parade with a vast number of floats varying in sizes and forms.

The parade featured Santa Claus, the Griswolds, fire trucks, public sanitation trucks, muscle cars, horses along with other floats and vehicles.

The parade went through the heart of Springville on the way to their final destination. Despite the rain, the parade powered through, with its residents and participants ignoring the light drizzle.

One main reason the parade was not canceled due to the rain was because of the preparations set up by the Springville Chamber of Commerce.

“Parades happen all the time in the rain,” the Chamber of Commerce said in a post on Facebook. “Dancing in the rain while watching an amazing parade can be totally fun.”

Despite an expected lower turnout due to the complications of COVID-19, many Springville residents still partook in what has become a tradition for the community.
