Autumn in Ashville is full of fun festivities from Fall gatherings to haunted hijinks and activities for all ages.
Saturday, October 31st, The Old Rugged Cross Cowboy Church is hosting a rooting, tooting from 2-5 p.m. at 33015 Highway 231 that promises games and prizes and a costume contest at 4 p.m.
A bowl of campfire chili will warm up those who need something a little heartier than candy as well as warm up the patrons in the crisp cool air.
Enjoy the hayrides and pony rides. For the braver, there will be mechanical bull. For more information, call or text (205) 814-8415 or (256) 521-1976.
Also on the 31st is The Law Enforcement Fall Festival. There will be food, drinks, candy and vendors at this event on Smallwood Farms from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. Come enjoy this event and support our local soldiers.
On November 7th and 8th is the Jug and Hoof Fall Festival. Kids can enjoy hayrides, horse rides, trick or treating, petting zoo and a bouncy house while Mom and Dad peruse the wares of local vendors. And everyone can enjoy music by The Red Mountain Jug Band on Old Springville Road from 10a.m to 4 p.m.
There are still room for vendors. They are looking for handmade items. This is a great opportunity for those who craft. Deadline for registration is November1st. Call (205) 594-9135 or visit jugandhoof@gmail.com
Don’t forget The Band Boosters Haunted Trail. There are only three nights left. All proceeds go to the Ashville Bulldogs Marching Band.
Speaking of our high school students the Ashville Cross Country Team has had yet another triumph. The girls team took 2nd place at count and the boys 3rd. Our athletes continue to best larger schools in all areas proving the big dogs cannot run with the Bulldogs.
Our younger athletes have suffered a small setback. The car wash to benefit the Ashville Middle School Wrestling team was cancelled. But it has not been forgotten.
And, for our still younger athletes, it is time to register for immunity cheerleading ages 4-12. Register online at www.cityofashville.com. Four year olds must have been four by August 1st, 2020.
You are never too young to learn to learn what means to be part of such a wonderful community.
