Several runoffs set for Oct. 6

St. Clair County residents will return to the polls on Oct. 6. Ashville, Pell City, and Springville residents will decide on races that turned into runoffs during the Aug. 25 municipal elections.
Ashville residents will be deciding between Kiley Phillips and Edward Roscoe Lane for the city council district 5 seat. Phillips earned the most votes with 231 followed by Lane with 216.

Pell City voters will decide who take District 4’s school board seat. Incumbent Tammie Williams who received 297 votes will face Greg Crump who pulled out 290 votes.
Springville will have two runoff elections, for City Council District 6, Chip Martin and Marshall Parker will go head to head. In the Aug. 25 election both candidate received 53 votes. Incumbent David Jones did not run for another term.
The District 7 seat is also up for grabs between incumbent Sherry Reaves and Jeff Martin. Reaves gained 136 votes against Martins 140.
To be considered the winner, the candidate must receive 50 percent plus one to claim victory.
