- The CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation awarded $5k grants to Pell City Schools
Duran North Junior High and Williams Intermediate School were awarded $5k from Century Link to help fund technology-focused projects within their school.
The CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation considered requests of up to $5k in grants submitted by full-time classroom teachers employed by a public or private school in a CenturyLink residential service area or corporate locations.
Lisa Rhinehart from Duran North submitted a request call “What A “Bot It?” and Shelley Gregg from Williams Intermediate submitted “Connections with Chromebook’s.”
“Once states deem it safe for children to return to school, it will be important to have the right technology in place for them to learn again in the classroom,” Century Link shared in a press release.
Grants funded through the 2019-20 program will be distributed to schools in the fall to provide a range of equipment including robotics, drones, virtual reality mechanisms, laptops, microscopes and more.
