The Mid-Winter Writers Conference returns Jan. 25 from 8– 4 p.m. at the Pell City Library.

Programs include an opportunity to learn from author Sean Dietrich, who will share where he gets ideas for writing and answer participant questions.

Todd Gerelds, the son of legendary Alabama high school coach Tandy Gerelds, will discuss his book Woodlawn: One Hope. One Dream. One Way. Gerelds will be host a workshop about writing from personal experiences. His keynote will be “Why You’re the Right Person to Write Your Story.”

David Bennett is the editor of both HomeLife magazine and Open Windows. Bennett’s workshop “learn the dos, don’ts, and common mistakes ‘rookie’ writers make” will offer tips for rookies looking to improve their style.

Other presenters include Ellen Sallas, Jackie Trimble, Sue Walker and Cheryl Sloan Wray. Rita Moritz will do the morning keynote.

Registration includes a choice of five workshops, two keynotes, breakfast and lunch and opportunities to connect and network with editors, experts and authors.
