Suspect captured after search

- Maxwell St. John, 30, of Pell City has been captured after fleeing the St. Clair County Courthouse yesterday.
A suspect who fled the probation office at the St. Clair County Courthouse in Pell City yesterday has been captured after an extensive search.
The sheriff’s office located the suspect after following up leads on his whereabouts.
The suspect Maxwell St. John, 30, of Pell City, was reporting to community corrections at the Pell City Courthouse yesterday when he fled the scene upon realizing he had a felony failure to appear warrant for Rape and Sodomy first degree.
Maxwell was unarmed and fled on foot, but was considered dangerous.
St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, Pell City Police Department, St. Clair Correctional Dog Team, and Pardons and Paroles began an immediate search that included St. Clair County Air Support.
There is no bond at this time pending new charges.
