The St. Clair County Conservation District educated first and second graders at Walter M Kennedy Elementary School in Pell City about soil health on May 20 and 21.

“We would like to thank Joseph Taylor with St. Clair County Farmers Co-op in Pell City and Bonnie Plants for their generous donation of 200 plants to help educate our first and second graders,” said Charity Mitcham with St. Clair County Conservation District.

“One of our goals was to educate our students about the importance of healthy soil and the importance of agriculture,” Mitcham stated. “With the help from the Pell City’s St. Clair County Farmers Co-op we were able to give away 200 plants to the students to take home and care for their plant during their summer break.”
