Springville Events 

April 27 the Springville Preservation Society hosted Guided Walking Tours of Historic Downtown Springville as part of Alabama’s bicentennial activities offered statewide.

On this anniversary of the April 27 Tornado outbreak, members of the CERT teams are gathered in Springville at a community-wide training and exercise event. The participants learned advanced techniques and methods for Search and Rescue operations. Thank you to Springville / Argo CERT and Springville Fire Department for hosting the training. CERT members from Concord Community Cert, Vestavia Hills CERT, Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Department CERT teams participated in the training led by Springville Fire Chief Richard Harvey. 

Springville Farmers Market Opening Day will be held Saturday, May 4,  from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Main Street.

Springville Elementary School will be hosting the 2nd Annual Food Truck Rally on Saturday. May 4 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. If you would like to contribute or participate, contact Coach Lisa at SES.

Springville’s Police and Fire Department have teamed up to host an event called “Springville NIght Out”  Saturday, May 4 from 3 – 6 p.m. featuring many of the city, county and state’s emergency resources.  Bring your family for a first hand preview with live demos of the first responders in our area.  Highlights of the day include: Helicopters, S.W.A.T., D.A.R.E, a K-9 Unit, Tow Trucks, Ambulances, a Bomb Squad, emergency situation demos and more.

Horse Pens 40 will host “Bluegrass & Craft Fair” on May 24 through 26.

Springville Schools

Congratulations to Springville High School Seniors, Ivan Cornelius who was awarded a scholarship to Lawson State Cougars Baseball and to Cole Isabell who was awarded a scholarship to Faulkner University Eagles Football, on Thursday , April 25.

The SHS Tigers Baseball Team swept East Limestone County and advances to round three of the state playoffs. Tigers will play a double header at Southside Gadsden on Friday, May 3 beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Springville Preservation Society

The Springville Preservation Society is now taking reservations for use of the historic “Little House” located adjacent to the Police Department for events or meetings. Community Meetings and Classes

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course which is open to the public. The course includes 2 hour classroom training and 2 hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. The next class will be posted soon. 

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work and piloting skills.
