Severe storms likely; brief tornadoes possible

Severe thunderstorms are likely by late afternoon and into tonight.
Threats include tornadoes and damaging winds up to 60 mph. Severe storms could begin as early as 4 p.m. in far western central Alabama and last as late as 5 a.m. Friday morning in southeast Central Alabama.
Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible Thursday night, which may result in localized flooding. Ahead of the line of thunderstorms, breezy conditions are expected with wind speeds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
