Trinity Highway Products wins Governor’s Trade Excellence Award

Trinity Highway Products, a subsidiary of Trinity Industries, Inc. was recently recognized as one of the eight winners of the 2019 Governor’s Trade Excellence Awards. The Pell City plant manufactures and ships proprietary products to all 50 states and 70 countries. 

The company first began operations in Sacramento, California.  In 1985, the manufacturing plant was relocated to Pell City, while the company’s R&D facility remained in Sacramento, CA.  In 2010, the company was acquired by Trinity Industries, Inc., which is based in Dallas, Texas.

Trinity’s International business is directed by sales offices that are located in the United States, Colombia, Singapore, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.  With a network of distributors spanning 70  countries, Trinity’s global footprint reaches markets in every corner of the world. 

The company has been aggressive in the research and development of more efficient energy-absorbing materials and technology.  Today, Trinity Highway Products offers a variety of impact attenuators, crash cushions, truck-mounted attenuators, and other products that utilize energy-absorbing materials, including sand, aluminum cells, elastomeric cylinders, and proprietary, highly-efficient steel and foam cartridges.  In addition to energy absorbing products, the company also offers state-of-the-art flexible delineator posts.

“We are proud to recognize this year’s Governor’s Trade Excellence Award winners,” said Alabama Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield.  “Their success comes as a result of the hard work and ingenuity of our businesspeople, as well as the commitment and cooperation that exists among our federal, state, and local entities that work together to help Alabama companies increase their exports.”  Secretary Canfield also pointed out that Alabama export values topped $21 billion dollars last year and shipments reached 191 countries.
