Moody Oktoberfest 2018 and the 8th Annual Cruisin’ for a Miracle Car Show & Swap Meet is in the books.  The weather was sunny and hot on Saturday with a huge turnout for the day’s events.  The festival opened with the National Anthem sung by Samantha Hennings. A huge entertainment lineup on the two stages included Crossing Grass, Katie Whitfield, Beverly’s Dance, Josh Lively, Alyssa Culverhouse, Nela McLauren, Brinkley Rackstraw, Andrew Henderson, Moody MerryMakers, the Chick-fil-A Mascot Challenge, Dance Class Demo, Relay Games with Kids, the Human Hungry Hippo Game, Aleya Gilley, 5678 Dance & More, Olivia Andrews and the finale’ was a Jaws of Life Demonstration by Moody Fire Department.  Kids enjoyed face painting, balloon artist, carnival rides, petting zoo with a camel, sheep, goat and more.  Many people hung out a large portion of the day and relaxed at picnic tables in the park.  There were tons of vendor booths boasting with arts, crafts, woodwork, jewelry, home décor, business vendors and plenty of food to go around. The car show to benefit Moody Miracle League registered 315 vehicles, but probably had 350 cars or more since some people brought more than one car, truck or bike.  It was a successful endeavor and we want to thank the Moody Area Chamber of Commerce, C & C Motor Company and Carpenetti’s Pizza for all of the hard work that went into hosting on these events.
