The Christian Love Pantry had a ribbon cutting Monday, August 27 for their new storage room attached to their existing facility.

For over 30 years the Love Pantry has been providing food to families in need. The Pantry distributes about 12,000 pounds of food a month. This new area will allow the Pantry to better serve their clients.

Thanks to many volunteers and several contractors working with the Pantry, this project was complete in about four weeks  time.

“It is so nice when a community comes together to work on a common goal,” said Bob Osborn, Food Coordinator of the Christian Love Pantry. “We could not had completed this project with the Lord’s help in bring  the right folks at the right time with the right talents. Praise the Lord.”

The need for this addition was caused by the desire of Easter Seals of St Clair County to provide health care in the same building the Christian Love Pantry is housed. The City and County worked together with the Community Service Agencies, in this 19th Street building, to make it possible to have several groups to provide their service in one spot.

“Our goal is to help those in need, rather it be utility bills, medical treatment or need for food,” Osborn said. “We are so blessed in Pell City to have such a place.”
