Special Stars Prom was held at CEPA on Saturday, May 12. Special Stars Prom is a prom for special needs students. Student chaperones are there to assist the students. Students are given the opportunity to shine while they strut down the red carpet after their limousine ride. Food and drink are served to these students along with a night of dancing and fun.
Students are helped with their hair, makeup, and dresses before the prom begins. There is also a photographer on site to capture special moments with these students. There were gift bags for each student, including the escorts who helped the students with food, drinks, and rides. Special Stars Prom allows these students to have fun and dance the night away. It was a place where they could have fun and their parents could observe from the second level of the CEPA gym.
Special Stars is not just for Pell City students. It is an event that reaches out for all special needs students in Central Alabama. Matt Mitcham hosts it each year. It is an event that reaches out to the students, and it helps create a memorable night. It allows them to shine with their own light and live the red-carpet life for a few hours. This even is one that these students will never forget.
