Most years Pell City High School art students compete in Young American Creative Patriotic Contest sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
This year Viktoria Weekley won first place at the state level and will continue on to the national level in Washington D.C. this summer.
Ashton Storey placed third at the state level.
These students competed with students throughout Alabama taking two of the top three places.
“We would like to thank our local chapter of VFW Auxiliary and Mrs. Bernice Spangenburg for continuing to support our students in their creative endeavors,” said PCHS art teacher Kelly Whittington.
