Members of church choirs from across the city will join their voices together to support the Christian Love Pantry’s mission in St. Clair County, a mission to make sure local families in need of emergency food always have a place to turn.
Voices Against Hunger will take place on the stage of the Center for Education and Performing Arts (CEPA) in Pell City on May 19 at 6:30 p.m. During the event, attendees will be treated to specially-prepared songs and hymns by four local church choirs.
Those lending their time and effort to the cause are Pell City First Baptist Church, Pell City First Methodist Church, St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church and Cropwell Baptist Church. In addition to these very special performances, the event will also feature soloists from the community, as well as a unified tribute to the US Armed Forces.
The members of these choirs and the accompanying soloists are volunteering their time to a worthy cause in our area. Hunger is a prevalent issue for many of our friends and neighbors, even though it might not be obvious on the surface. The Christian Love Pantry provides
thousands of pounds of food per year to those in need. Donations received at Voices Against Hunger will provide a vital boost to the all-volunteer organization in 2018.
“This event is not only about having the rare chance to hear different choirs come together on the same stage, but it’s also about how you can make a difference for families in need,” said Alan Foster, director of the Love Pantry. “I hope you’ll join the volunteers at the Love Pantry and the singers on stage in the fight against hunger in St. Clair County.”
CEPA is located at 25 Williamson Drive, Pell City, 35125. Leave a message at the CEPA office 205-338-1974 with any questions or if you’d like to volunteer for this important event. Tickets can be purchased for a $10 donation at pellcitycepa.com/tickets.
