Drawings still lined some of the chairs in the sanctuary at Victory Christian School in Pell City as students from kindergarten through 12th grade retrieved their winner art.
Students were competed in many mediums, including painting, water base, printmaking, drawing (non-color), color drawing, 3-D arts/crafts, photography, and collage and mixed media. Selected art for first and second place will go to the district art show in April.
“We have some very talented kids,” fourth grade teacher and art show coordinator Rosalee Harris said. “They did a wonderful job and it turned out very well.”
Art projects ranged from crayon and pencil drawings, to origami swan and a metal cat sculpture. Children were inspired to create using an art medium in which they were most adept.
Some students entered multiple art pieces in different categories, winning several prizes. Students were judged in different division levels at kindergarten and first grade, second and third grade, fourth through sixth grade, seventh through ninth grade, and tenth through twelfth grade.
