Sylacauga man arrested after deputy pursuit

A vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle from Shelby County was seen in Pell City on March 14. A St. Clair County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the vehicle.
After failing to stop, the offender was pursued by the deputy until the vehicle left the roadway at Logan Martin Dam Rd. and Glovers Ferry Rd.
The driver, 46-year-old James Eugene Thomas from Sylacauga, was arrested on scene and charged with receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, attempting to elude, and resisting arrest.
He was taken to the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City where he remains on a $54,000 bond and awaits to see the judge.
