The Business Alabama Magazine recognized Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum last month. This venue is Alabama’s best attraction according to readers of USA Today. The museum that is part of the 880-acre Barber Motorsports Park features one of the largest collections of motorcycles in the world and the largest collection of vintage Lotus racecars. The Moody Civic Center is in full swing with everything from Spin Classes, Senior Fitness Classes, Tabata Class, Yoga Class, Boot Camp Class and Pilates Class so there is no shortage of places to plug in to keep your body in shape. Even if you are not interested in joining the Moody Civic Center, you are now able to attend classes. The Moody Kid Quilts Group are scheduled to meet on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 5 and 6 at Moody City Hall. This group meets the first Monday and Tuesday of each month to make kid quilts for Children’s Hospital to distribute to sick children. They have also made quilts in the past for local veterans. These members bring their sewing machines, ironing boards, fabric and supplies to make these beautiful quilts together so bring your gear and get involved in this worthwhile endeavor. The Governmental Utilities Services Corporation of Moody will hold a regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5. The Moody Area Chamber of Commerce will host their monthly chamber luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Moody City Hall.

The Leeds Planning and Zoning Commission as well as the Storm Water Variance Board are scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Leeds Civic Center meeting room.

Tickets are on sale now for the $10,000 Leeds Green Wave Giveaway event scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 at Moody Civic Center. Tickets are $100 and include dinner for two as well as fun, games and door prizes. Grand Prize amount is based upon the number of tickets sold. You do not have to be present to win the $10,000 Grand Prize. Grand Prize is awarded to the last ticket drawn. Ticket holder or proxy must have possession of the ticket.
