Springville Presbyterian Church is planning regular, “dog-friendly” worship services. Dogs will be welcomed to services beginning Sunday, January. 7, at 11 a.m. Dog-friendly services will be held on the first Sunday of the month for the first six months this year as a trial period.  

Starting January 2018 you will be able to pay your Springville SPWD water and sewer bill online. www.springvillealabama.org  

The Springville Presbyterian Church has been undergoing a restoration. The church is one of the oldest churches in the area. Donations to fund the restoration can be made to the Springville Presbyterian Church Foundation at P.O. Box 429, Springville, AL 35146.

○Jan. 10, 17, 24, 31 – Preschool  StoryTime  meets in the Annex at 10:30 a.m. 

○Jan. 12 – Book Group, meets in the Main Library at 10 a.m. 

○Jan. 13 – American Girl Club for children ages 6-12, meets in the Annex at 10:30 a.m. 

○Jan. 25 – Lego Club, elementary and middle school, meets in the Annex at 4 p.m. 

○Jan. 30 –Introduction to Computers for Adult Beginners meets in the Main Library at 6 p.m.  

Sunday, January 14, there will be a “School of Rock” Concert at the Springville Middle School Auditorium from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. benefiting the Historical Society’s restoration project of the Old Rock School. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.  

Christ Community Church is offering monthly “Art Days” for kids ages 6-12, for $5. Register at art.springville.info  

The Springville Senior Center started its Beginner Computer Classes. Classes are every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Springville Public Library. All seniors are welcome.  Register in the Main Library or call 205-467-2339.  

Christ Community Church is offering Grief Share classes. http://griefshare.springville.info  

The Church at Bradford Road is offering a Divorce Support Group for Children every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Contact 205-467-7376.  

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course, which is open to the public. The course includes 2 hour classroom training and 2 hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. From the St Clair County EMA: Road Closure at Muckleroy Creek Bridge. AL State Hwy 11 from Whitney Junction/AL Hwy 231 to State Route 23, Springville to close to thru traffic on Monday, December 12 for bridge work. Alternate Route: I-59. Local traffic can utilize Huff Lane to Crawford Cove to State Rd 23 and also Pinedale Rd to 23. Timeline: More than 1 year.  This notice is provided from the Alabama Department of Transportation. 

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6pm – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work. Cadets also learn piloting skills.
